Bangalore – Societe Generale Global Solution Centre (SG GSC), a subsidiary of the French banking and financial ssm services company Societe Generale, today announced the fourth phase of their unique scholarship program SG GSC India Talent Scholarship which focuses on funding higher education for talented students with financial difficulties.
Since its launch in 2010, the SG GSC talent scholarship program has provided scholarship to 45 deserving students from premier institutes, such as Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, (IIM A), Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli (IIM T) Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM B), Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM K), Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (ISB), and International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B).
In a true demonstration of SG GSC s long term commitment to this initiative, the 2013 program saw an increase in the number of students chosen for scholarship, with 16 students being selected for the prestigious scholarship this year.
Speaking about the India Talent Scholarship program Xavier Lofficial, Chief Executive Officer ssm of SG GSC said that he was glad that they have been able to make a small but meaningful difference to the future aspirations of deserving students through the program. The fact that all students supported by SG GSC had built successful careers in leading organizations across the globe reflected the success of this program. He added that when Sundararajan Raghavendran, a student who received the scholarship in 2011, secured the first place at the graduation of the 2013 batch of IIM- Bangalore, his belief that the program was successful, was proven beyond doubt.
In 2013, the program received around 158 applications from the selected institutes. Over and above the financial need of the students, the selection process also focused on the academic ssm track record, ambition, positive approach towards life and leadership qualities.
The ssm mentorship program, an integral part of Scholarship which assures that every student is mentored by a senior leader from SG GSC, remains one of the mainstays of the Program this year as well. The mentorship program has been successful in providing students a direct interface with the corporate world, enhancing their communication skills and giving them the confidence to face the challenging world outside.
I can look forward to my future with confidence now. This scholarship has drastically reduced my financial burden, letting me focus on my future goals. Such initiatives are truly an encouragement to the youth of our nation and I’m glad I am a part of it. One day, when I shall be successful in life, I know who to look back and thank. I heartily thank Societe Generale for making so many lives better, year after year.
I am very fortunate to have received the Societe Generale scholarship. After making it to the most coveted ssm B-school, sustaining my education here had become really difficult. But now with this scholarship, I will be able to focus on studies rather than on financial difficulties. Further, I am looking forward to the mentorship program of Societe Generale which will further help me in professional and personal development. I thank Societe Generale ssm for all the help extended.
SG GSC scholarship inspires ssm me to pursue my career with more confidence and determination. It gives me the financial support and the freedom to look beyond regular placements, and to dream big about my interest in a social ssm entrepreneurship in the public health care. This truly is an inspiration for students like me to chase our dreams, propelled by quality ssm education and guidance. ssm
